Prerequisite

The configuration required to start using the Slack component must be done by a user who holds Salesforce system administrator privileges.

Summary

The Slack component uses APIs provided by Slack.

For example, when posting a message in the Slack component, the following image is used to process the message.

To make a request from within the Salesforce organization to outside the Salesforce organization (Slack), the request destination must be registered in the Remote Site Settings.

Setup procedure

1. From [Settings], in the [Quick Search] box, type "Remote Site Settings" and select [Remote Site Settings].

2. Click the [New Remote Site] button.

3. Under [Remote Site Edit], enter values as follows

• Remote Site Name: [any]
• Remote Site URL : https://slack.com
• Disable Protocol Security: Unchecked
• Description: [optional]
• Active : Checked

4. Click the [Save] button.
